Tetris using python programming

“What was your favorite toy growing up?”

A question heard very often in the toy industry.

When I remember my childhood, I am filled with memories of myself playing A Link to the Past and Super Mario World on SNES, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Final Fantasy IX on PlayStation, Ocarina of Time and Donkey Kong 64. Fast forward to 2019 and you can occasionally find me playing Breath of The Wild, Blizzard’s Overwatch, and even watching live League of Legends Championship Series matches (#ALWAYSFNATIC #FNCWIN).

As a gamer I have always had the dream of someday designing and developing my very own video game so having recently taken up programming as a hobby, it was inevitable for my first personal project to be a game and of course, it had to be a classic: TETRIS.

As I continue to develop my programming skills, I am creating my own pixel sprites to implement into my very own side-scroller. It is not an easy feat for someone who has never professionally studied computer science or game development, but so far I have achieved everything I have set my mind to so I’ve got a good feeling about this one.

Focus the right energy into your passions and you will make anything possible - the beauty of the creative mind. We’ve all got one.
